"Kates Hope" A must read!!!

I met Kate when I was looking to buy a house. She has one of the most peaceful spirits! Just a great and helpful person. We need more people like her.....I just found out about this a week or so ago. A must read!

August 2008
Kate, age 37, is a single mom of a 12 year old daughter, Shannon. Kate has been diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. She has been through chemo/radiation and surgery. In addition to the problems associated with her having cancer, her father died on August 4, 2008. In the past, she has donated many volunteer hours to various charitable organizations. It is now our turn to help her.
According to the Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, FL, Kate likely has less than a year to live. One hope they offer and recommend is a “stem cell rescue” transplant. The cost is over $200,000, and Kate’s insurance will not cover any of the expense. The Moffit Cancer Center has pledged to match $100,000 through a grant, so we need to raise more than $100,000 to help with the procedure and assist with Kate and Shannon’s living expenses.
Please donate to help Kate and Shannon.

Beer Fest Success!!!
I would have to say...for our first event...we did well! We will present St. Lucie County Learn to Read a check for $10,000! The average dollar amount for their fund raising events brings in around $3000. This has been a major boost for the local chapter. Just think a group of 6 guys that meet on Friday afternoons for beer tasting...put this together. It was far from perfect...but a success none the less. The total in attendence was around 550 people! That is crazy!!!!!!! We met last night....we are forming a legal non-profit organization. The first name we are trying for is "Beer Works Charitable Foundation". Still working on it! The "Treasure Coast Beer Fest" will be our named event. We are planning to sponsor different local charities each year.
